Beatnik wedding clients Xavier and Nathalie are big fans of Tim Burton, and they’re crafting their wedding in the theme of Nightmare Before Christmas. I had a blast shooting with them and trying to get something fun and creepy at the same time. After we had a viewing to pick some shots for the invitations Xavier and Nathalie surprised me with my favorite Beach Boys album “Pet Sounds” on vinyl. Thanks so much! what an awesome gift!! I’ve said it before but seriously Beatnik seems to get the coolest and most creative clients. I can’t wait to see what they dream up for their wedding day!
Yogi Mo
I spent the entire day on Wednesday assembling a massive architecture pavilion at the Launch Festival and I didn’t even bring my camera. Luckily my friends Morgan and Lucas were on the scene with their camera. Morgan’s teaches Bikram Yoga here in Sacramento and was thrilled to shoot a couple positions in the finished structure. The festival was amazing and Exquisite Corps CD release was the perfect end to one of the best parties Sacramento has ever thrown. Lots of props to Clay Nutting and Mike Hargis for organizing the festivities and Jason Silva from Dreyfuss and Blackford for designing the pavilion.
Architectural Installation at Sacramento’s Launch Festival
Jason Silva from Dreyfuss & Blackford Architects has spent the last couple days camping out in the MARRS building on 20th and K streets and working on an impressive architectural installation piece for this years Launch Festival.

Also if you have some extra time, feel free to drop by 20th and K and offer to help out… There’s still lots of work to do and helping hands are more than welcome! I’ll be back at it Wednesday morning to help assemble it for display during the Exquisite Corps performance.

Sweet Little Tahoe Wedding
Lindsay was busy shooting a wedding in Australia so I had to fly solo on this one up in Tahoe.. I usually don’t shoot weddings alone but at least I had Karen and Jet to chauffeur me around. Tay and Colette had a simple and beautiful little ceremony in Tahoe with a small group of family and friends. They are saving the big reception for later this summer at Beatnik. Beatnik Studios has a nack for finding the coolest clients and these two were no exception. They wrote for each other the most sincere and beautiful vows I have ever heard, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. They didn’t even get too mad at me when I made Colette go rock climbing in here wedding gown 🙂 Congrats Tay and Colette, see you at Beatnik soon!
Covers Baby!
I shot a couple of SN&R covers this summer and got into all kinds of adventures in the process. From spicy snow cones to garage radio stations I can always expect something interesting when shooting for the News and Review. Here’s a look at some of the shots I collected while working on these two issues.
Juniper James is a hot blog for the fashion savvy, and the woman behind it all is a great friend of mine. When she’s not stalking lost styles at thrift stores or consulting designers, you can find her hard at work helping organize some of Sacramento’s most notable events.
I wasn’t sure what to expect from my visit to Juno’s Kitchen in East Sac, but what I found was amazing food, friendly people and friendly dogs. This place is open to people and pets alike and the food is top notch! I’ve already been back several times for the eggplant sandwich 🙂
