Live in the City of Trees

My friend Devon and I created a website called Live in the City of Trees and we had an absolute blast working on some very unique and beautiful local music videos. Devon has moved to NYC and Beatnik has been undergoing major transformations so I had to slow it down for a while. But fear not!! Live in the City of Trees is not going anywhere so make sure you keep in touch and on the lookout for new posts. There’s a couple of great ones in the can 😉

So go to the website!

and stay tuned for more artistic endeavours coming soon!

Oregon Skate Trip

Last month I piled into a spaceship looking van with a bunch of dirty skateboarders and headed for the concrete oases hidden within the lush green and dense forests of Oregon. Our mission was simple; skate as much as possible in route to Troutdale, OR where we would catch the Fleet Foxes live in concert. We had a pretty solid crew to say the least.. Ryan Stark, MVP of the trip was at the helm. Ryan has one of the best styles in skateboarding I have ever seen, the guy is just fun to watch. Ricky Krull held it down in shotgun. Ricky rides for The Company Skateboards and pretty much puts on a show wherever he skates. Mark Dillon holds it down for the Lurk Hard crew and is always coming through with amazing tricks and jokes for days. Yours truly pulled a few tricks out of the old bag and shot the whole adventure.
All in all it was an amazing trip full of action and adventure. We camped, swam in the Columbia River, skated 7 different skateparks, the van broke down, we saw the Fleet Foxes play an amazing show, explored downtown Portland, slept in parks and we made it back in one piece!

Bicycle Work

Rolling Stills, a bicycle themed photography show featuring some of Sacramento’s top photographers,  opened last night at Beatnik Studios.  Here’s a few of the shots I submitted to the show.  I also made a cool video that’s playing while the show is up.  Stop by beatnik and check out the work, it will be hanging until the June 22nd.

Quick trip to the snow

I made a mad dash over the mountains last week in between storms.. something got into me and I just had to go. After breaking my chains and sliding my way down into Southlake I finally made it to Genoa and rolled up to The Orchard House. This place is the family home of Randy and Betsy Falcke and their son, one of my best comrades Todd Falcke. Todd and I used to run Tahoe back in the day before we got old and soft. We decided to take a little hike up by Red Lake and test our jump building abilities. The Falckes are the most gracious hosts I have ever known and I am always thrilled to spend some time in this peaceful setting. Thanks allowing me to escape once again 🙂
