Brad and Mackenzie Engagement
“We don’t really want an engagement session, they are just too cheezy,” said Mackenzie when we first sat down to talk about photography. “Maybe they just aren’t cheezy enough” I replied.
Brad and Mackenzie are top shelf foodies. The guest list for their wedding is full of local chefs and people in the restaurant industry. I knew we had to do something different. Now all they have to do is decide where to seat their rowdy friends.. at the kale table, the cheese table or the champagne table.
Here is further proof that Beatnik attracts the most interesting type of wedding clients. I can’t wait to shoot their wedding this March!

Surprise Engagement
Reymon called to ask me if I could photograph his wedding proposal without his girlfriend knowing I was there. He had a strategic plan for the day, including brunch on the river, a carriage ride around Sacramento and a big surprise in the rose garden at Capitol park. It sounded like fun to me so I grabbed the big glass and followed them around, shooting from the shadows. It worked perfectly! Alyssa had no idea she was being followed or photographed. She also wasn’t expecting her friends and family to jump out of the trees after she said yes. Check out these sneaky photos from the day! Also, thanks to my buddy Russell Volksen for helping me shoot.
Arriving at brunch in old town, there’s lots of tourists with cameras down there..
Reymon could barely contain his excitement. He almost lost it when he first saw us shooting.
After brunch on the Delta King, they headed into old Sacramento where their chariot awaited.
Arriving at the rose garden, Alyssa still had no idea what was about to happen.
The gazebo was all set by friends and family, the ring is hidden on the ground just under some rose pedals.
As Alyssa opens the box, Reymon grabs the ring and takes a knee.
The bushes have eyes.. Russell and I flanked them without Alyssa ever knowing we were there.
The rest of the crew comes out of the trees to congratulate the newly engaged couple.
Congratulations Reymon and Alyssa!
