Yogi Mo

I spent the entire day on Wednesday assembling a massive architecture pavilion at the Launch Festival and I didn’t even bring my camera. Luckily my friends Morgan and Lucas were on the scene with their camera. Morgan’s teaches Bikram Yoga here in Sacramento and was thrilled to shoot a couple positions in the finished structure. The festival was amazing and Exquisite Corps CD release was the perfect end to one of the best parties Sacramento has ever thrown. Lots of props to Clay Nutting and Mike Hargis for organizing the festivities and Jason Silva from Dreyfuss and Blackford for designing the pavilion.

Architectural Installation at Sacramento’s Launch Festival

Jason Silva from Dreyfuss & Blackford Architects has spent the last couple days camping out in the MARRS building on 20th and K streets and working on an impressive architectural installation piece for this years Launch Festival.

You can see some renderings of the final piece here, or go to the Launch Festival and check it out first hand. Also if you have some extra time, feel free to drop by 20th and K and offer to help out… There’s still lots of work to do and helping hands are more than welcome! I’ll be back at it Wednesday morning to help assemble it for display during the Exquisite Corps performance.

Good work Jason! I’m thrilled to see some large installation work happening in Sacramento!

First Look: Wednesday evening you can explore this project during the Exquisite Corps Launch Event

GOOD street food + design market

I was honored to be selected as the “artist of the month” on the sac365 website I tagged along with Rachael Lankford from Sac365 to the GOOD food and design market and had a wonderful time. The event is beautifully set up and full of creative businesses, designers, food for foodies, artists and just GOOD people! This thing happens on the first Sunday of every month and I highly recommend checking out the next one. Here is their info.

I created a unique hands on art project specifically for the event and had over 100 people participate in the creation of the piece. You can see the final piece on display at Beatnik Studio this 2nd Saturday, July 14th and Final Friday July 27th.

Karma Soap Co.

I love going over to my friend Amara’s house because it always smells amazing. If she’s not mixing up an tantalizing new flavor of soaps she’s baking cookies or other delectable treats. Plus I get to jam out with Brad in his sweet little music room. I asked Amara to help me with some gifts for my family on Fathers day so she whipped up a batch of her famous cookies and I picked out a few bars of soap.. sometimes it’s hard to tell which one you really want to take a bite out of, the cookies or the soap 😉

My Mom

My mom retired from teaching after 30+ years.  We had a wonderful celebration and listened beautiful and emotional testimonies of her character from her friends and fellow teachers.  Teaching is the most noble and undervalued profession there is and I am proud to say that both of my parents were the kind of teacher that really make a difference.  My mom’s going to start growing flowers and dial in her green thumb now that she no longer has to deal with 8 year old’s making fart jokes.  Love you Mom!!
